Your first look at the Generate 2017 program

With the Generate 2017 Youth Energy and Climate Leadership Summit just over a week away we are thrilled to reveal the full summit program!

The program we have pulled together has been carefully selected to generate meaningful conversations and support our teams in developing their final energy education action project – and most importantly be fun! Take a first look at just a few of the inspiring sessions and events that will take place during Generate 2017.

Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan
To kick off the summit we will be hearing from Michael Fulsom from the Alberta Climate Change Office about Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan! We’ll learn about it first hand, and find out what it means for Alberta’s energy future.

The Energy Dialogues: Energy and Climate Roundtables
To continue to give context for energy and climate change in Alberta we will be joined by experts for roundtable discussions. (Link to speakers page for roundtable speakers) Small groups of students will visit directly with a diverse group of Alberta’s brightest idea generators with a myriad of connections to energy and climate change.

Innov8 Gallery
The Innov8 gallery is where participants will be able to engage with awesome, interactive exhibits. Students will be surprised, inspired and unwind with all their peers with this opportunity for hands-on energy and climate change actions and activities.

Projects in Motion
On the last day of Generate, we have one of our most important sessions! Each of the schools gathered will develop an action plan for their school energy projects. These sessions will introduce some specific, achievable activities teams will undertake this year, and in the future. Teams will take the information from the summit and work towards energy education, conservation and efficiency in their schools and communities.
